IPL Ltd has invested in a full turnkey LED lighting upgrade for IPL Ltd in Snetterton, Suffolk. Owned by ASDA, IPL are the biggest single importer of produce in the UK. IPL Ltd are forward thinkers in terms of making their operation as cost effective as possible and at the same time are very aware of their environmental commitments in reducing their carbon footprint to as low as possible. The property consists of a mixture of office space and production/manufacturing facilities for their beverages and grocery business. Root3 Lighting carried out the LED conversion in two sections.

Firstly, the office upgrade consisted of upgrading:

  • traditional 82 watt fluorescent cat2 fittings to 28w LED panels
  • retro fitting LED tubes into fittings that didn’t suit complete replacement
  • 2D LED fittings with integrated sensors that have been installed in toilet areas where lighting is not required all of the time

Average Energy Saving: 65%

Secondly, the factory upgrade consisted of upgrading:

  • 475 watt metal halide high bay fittings to 150w LED high bays
  • All fluorescent task lights were fitted with LED tubes
  • All emergency light fittings were changed to a series of 6ft maintained fittings and converted to non-maintained fittings to save even further energy
